Dusty Pink Cristobal Cushion

This embroidered cushion is made using a traditional backstrap loom. The diamond design which is typical of Mayan textiles represents the universe and the movement of the sun. It is brocaded in with contrasting coloured threads as the cushion is woven. The complexity of the pattern means that this is a very slow process requiring impeccable precision. Each cushion may take up to 3 days to finish.
